I was unaware of anything more than a possible connection to the Iolani Palace from a relative I only met twice and never had a personal relationship with. I found a name of someone who was supposed to be a 3xgreat grandfather. Their history and position within the Hawaiian Royal Family found in the a few sources I found, as well as pointed out by another Wikipedian led to very interesting research on very notable portions of encyclopedic value. I decided to seriously begin researching my own genealogy and share what I was able on Knowledge, since this involved very notable situations of historic context that there seemed no reason not to share on Knowledge, as I do not write about anyone I have ever had a real personal relationship with. Bias is a matter that everyone has to deal with when writing about things of interest, not just things of a personal nature. I welcome input from others. I always have and always will, but discussing me is a personal attack if not directly related to improving project or article and if only used as retaliation to my bringing attention to real TOS and copyright violations. than amusement as the results are largely laughable and indecipherable. The next largest obstacle is the lack of knowledge about computing and word processing, it took me @ 40 mins to figure out how to respond to you. I've tried substantial editing when I saw a jazz-pop fusion bands discography hadn't been updated in 6 yrs. I came close after spending considerable time atempting to add an album but never suceeded and decided to leave the cyber-witchery to the Harry Potters of the internet, believe me you don't want this bull in your chinashop. The last significant problem is the band itself. Recently formed from 2 failed groups, there aren't many usefull citations to add. I'm not even sure what is notable so that brings me to the last problem of having to spend time learning about Knowledge itself. Reading about proper procedures for hours doesn't sound appealing and with that my apologies. The band itself is doing well, they matured somewhat and lost the "Avril Lavigne with rabies" sound but as a result have gained a larger audience so I have no doubt if the page is deleted it'll be recreated. Sincerly yours, --

to represent on Knowledge and one editor that appears to also have added sources they have a conflict with. I have also tried to fix what I perceived as some small COI with opposition editors, when I discovered that an image on the TMT article had been hidden with wiki markup, only after I unhid it and discovered the editor had disclosed a personal relationship to the subject of the image who is involved in a lawsuit with the TMT company. That is the editor I pinged to the Mauna Kea article and why I felt inclined to disclose my FB account on Knowledge after I felt it was a DOXing attempt by Kanoa. I believed it best to be transparent that when I used the Knowledge e-mail function to notify the editor that they were pinged, the response to me demonstrated that I had them on my contact list on Facebook. I have many people as contacts from Hawaii because of our shared interest in the islands, the TMT protests, and many other subjects. But I live in Northern California and am unemployed and spend most of my time editing Knowledge.--

guideline is a behavioral guideline and if followed correctly should mean an editor with a "financial" or direct personal relationship should not be editing the article. "Should not". Not "Cannot". If editors agree to disclose their COI then that is the first step in collaborative editing. I fully understand that. Just as I feel it is inappropriate to remove that disclosure just before editing articles one has a COI to and accusing another editor of editing with a POV and bias on those articles. I am going to disagree with you on the point that, if one is paid by the company that is the subject of the article and has removed the disclosure before adding that source, it is a conflict of interest. Also, if they helped develop that source or write it...it is a direct conflict of interest. We are not allowed to ad our own sources that we have written or helped write, into articles we have a financial connection to or not. Anyway, thanks for your responses and hope you have a good summer (well...if its summer where you are).--

automated script which overwrote the human input information. It is never constructive, and if persistent I would consider it disruptive, to overwrite human editor input without checking with an automated process. In most cases the human editor has taken the article title from reading the page. The script takes the title from the html headers, which may, or may not be saying something useful and in most cases is certainly saying something less specific. The most glaring error is the first ref that was changed, which, if you actually look at the page, has clearly gone dead and now contains completely different material. Overwriting the title of the deadlink page pretty much ensures that there is no hope of anyone ever recovering the ref from an archive in the future.

think it was relevant and had not read the policy since I signed up. As soon an Mark Miller pointed it out and I read the current policy I added the disclosure back to my user page and added one to the talk page for CFHT. I won't edit the CFHT article directly in the future. I think I was too aggressive with my first edits to the Mauna Kea article and the Mauna Kea Observatories article. I have not made any edits since then while we discuss on the talk pages. I'm not sure why Mark Miller has fixated on my pic. When I uploaded a photo of myself nine years ago I believe it complied with the copyright requirements of the time but those have since changed. Lastly, I don't know what Mark is talking about regarding the PDF.
6503:: Are you saying that administrators have no responsibility to act in a respectful, civil manner outside of their administrator duties? Regardless of whether they're acting as an administrator remains independent of their expected conduct. Also, I never said that Spinningspark's comment was not substantive, as mentioned above. The concern is the failure to recognize that the revert was made as a good-faith anti-vandal edit and, with that, the tone in which the administrator decided to use. Although this instance may not be directly related to the exact case at hand, it still exemplifies the administrator's tone towards other editors. I'm not sure how this would classify as a "low blow." -- 4679:"...researching each journal...", exactly, even if I had put the refs in myself I would not remember exactly which one said what. I would have to reread each source, just as you said you would have to, and I expect Chetvorno would have to too. So no, I am not prepared to expend that effort because, in the end, it will make no difference to the substance of the article. What I would be prepared to do is to cite bundle the references to improve the visual appearance of the article, a technique I think I have already noted that I have used before, provided that Chetvorno is happy with using that citation style (and let me say once again, citation style is 5097:
poorly determined orbit." I think the problem is that the sentence does not clearly indicate what the MOID values are more practical FOR. It says explicitly that they are more practical for small objects, but this sounds paradoxical because it makes it sound like it is easier to obtain MOID values for small objects than for large objects. (That is what threw me.) But the real thrust of the sentence is supposed to be that MOID values are more practical for ASCERTAINING COLLISION POTENTIAL for small objects than for large objects, since predictions for large objects can generally rely on a larger data set than is needed to ascertain MOID values.
1819:, either in whole or in part. They are generally about the Scottish referendum and the affect that is having on other indepedence dreams. Getting into the news, in any case, does not amount to a "credible claim to importance". The claim that it is the largest organisation campaigning for Cascadia is pretty meaningless. I could start an organisation today campaigning for cabbage and peanut butter sandwiches. In all probability it would be the largest such organisation, but hardly important. I am not inclined to restore it on that basis as in my opinion it stands little chance of surviving a full deletion debate. 6846:
a non-explanatory "Disruptive editing" in the block log. Then you blew off EdJohnston, above on this page, when he asked you to explain what the block was for. Because of this series of actions, it seems to me you ought to either hand in your tools (with or without a re-RFA, as you prefer) or expect to be taken to RFAR for arbcom review. If you'd rather, I suppose a third alternative might be that you complement your less than satisfactory logged unblock rationale with an apology to jps, logged in the usual way (i.e., a one-second block with a note of apology for the improper one-week block).
2936:"In my opinion, material on well known subjects that can be found in college level textbooks does not really need inline cites. (snip) SpinningSpark 17:59, 31 March 2015 (UTC)" I agree with this. I think I have only removed one "citation needed", though I might have thought about it more. The one I removed was obvious to anyone who cared, and for those who it wasn't obvious, they wouldn't care. Well, there might be some things that could be usefully cited, even from college (especially upper level) college textbooks. But some are just too well known. Thanks! 312:
Please restore their page. They aren't your neighbors kids garage band, this band was formed less than a year ago, but all members have been active on the music scene for at least 5+ yrs., have a loyal following internationally, put out multiple albums, done concerts, professionally produced videos featured on-air tv shows, commercials and other endorsements, music shows, and documentaries. find any paper that directly confirmed what the previous editor(s) had written. I doubt Knowledge has reverted back to the early days when citations/references were not asked for or "citation needed" not added? In fact, on other topics editors will just remove un-referenced additions. I'm not a fan of that either and feel "citation needed" is a compromise that at least lets readers know to do more research before accepting the statement as correct. Look forward to your reply on this. Policy over opinion greatly preferred. :-)
999: 3196: 3040:"Does not do any harm" is not one of the reasons given for including a link at WP:EL as far as I recall, nor is the "only site devoted to a subject". It's a bit rich calling my post on your page "offensive" (in fact it is studiously polite) when you then go and refer to me as "wiki-police" and accuse me of having an "accusatory tone". The only thing I have "accused" you of is posting the same thing twice without an adequate rationale. There still isn't one, at least not in terms covered at WP:EL. 6450: 7158: 5571:. I have a few questions in regard to COI and paid advocacy editing. First, can such TOS violations be stale if they were caught in a timely manner, brought up to the editor involved and then other violations such adding sources from the company they work for, discovered? Would not adding such sources that you are directly involved with financially be evidence of advocacy editing? If you look at the editor's history over the last six months, is there sufficient reason to cause concern?-- 31: 198:
category of notable self-published sources - okay to use in an article, but probably not enough to confer notability to a topic. I'm not necessarily requesting that the article be restored - just wanted to see what you thought. It might be worth having a formal deletion nomination, since there are at least a few sources, however weak they may be. But if you don't feel that the four that I've found make much of a case for keeping the article, then maybe we should just leave as is. --

accept that this is not spam. It is a non-commercial, education site and we are naturally much more open to such sites, but that does not stop the behaviour from being spam. I would also require a clear statement of whether or not Krelcoyne and NilubonT are the same person. Although I AGF'd this in the first instance, there is a worrying lack of time overlap between the two accounts. Now that they are both blocked we should clear that up before unblocking either one of them.

He only made a request for its deletion as an orphan after my nomination for it to be deleted as a copyright violation and giving him a chance to provide permissions should he choose to keep the image he uploaded and used for several years before deleting at the same time as deleting his employment disclosure, that I do admit to seeing as a bad faith edit.
6087:. This kind of use of parentheses is to be avoided, and in this case is entirely unnecessary. The title term is still bolded, it is just in its plural form. That is perfectly ok. If it was necessary to emphasise that both plural and singular are possible, stating it in full like "element or elements" would be preferable. However, it is not necessary, and the grammar of the entire sentence is cast in the plural. 5735: 4913:"This is not the smallest Earth MOID in the catalogues; many bodies with a small Earth MOID are not classed as PHO's because the objects are less than roughly 140 meters in diameter (or absolute magnitude, H < 22). The book is listed on Amazon.com, and is a textbook on radio antennas. It's 892 pages long and written by an Ohio State University professor. Although I don't own the book, I referred to it a fair amount over the course of several years. Nowhere in it does the author use the word "antennas" to refer to a plurality of radio antennas. Despite this, the user has continued to obstruct others who would add balance. 1332: 6434:"The Zener diode's operation depends on the heavy doping of its p-n junction." Although you have been an administrator for some time, and your hard work is widely appreciated by the community, I am sure, your tone was absolutely inappropriate. Although "administrators are not expected to be perfect," this is surely a mark of brash commenting. I just thought I would inform you how your comment is potentially perceived by others, as well, on the wiki. -- 6478:'s comments were made in good faith as well. Spinningspark was absolutely correct. If you actually reviewed the edit, you would have realized that there was little reason to revert, and even less reason to leave a templated warning. That you want to use this exchange in the ArbCom case Spinningspark is involved in is a low blow, and as unjustified as that templated warning. 1637:
