He explains that, he sought to "activate" the space beyond the canvas and rather than creating some kind of three dimensional object to represent the milk bottle it made the most sense to simply use the actual object. Prior to these large scale paintings he was creating small drawings marking a dramatic shift in his art making. Goode speaks on a specific painting in this series called

His father had a great influence on his artistry. He too was an artist who made signage for a department store in town and painted portraits.
