183:. The ground is on land donated by Charles and Elizabeth (Granny) Feighan in 1936. A plaque commemorating this donation was erected in the park in 1989. In the early 1950s there were proposals to sell part of the park for housing with the money raised to be used for extra road access and improved sporting facilities.
