Avdotya Bryanskaya was born in Saint Petersburg into an artistic family. Her father, Yakov Bryansky, was a tragic actor of the classical school, while her mother, Anna Matveevna Stepanova, sang opera and appeared in dramatic performances. Avdotya studied in the
