4648:? Whatever, I just wanted to ask you if you usually load up images to the commons. Because I'm actually working on the articles to the biggest cities of the USA in the german Knowledge! But my problem is, I always have to search the pictures, which are used for the english articles, in the commons, or I even have to down- and upload them first, before I can use them in the articles. The reason why I'm telling this to YOU is, because the most pictures (satellite-pics, maps) are created by you! That's really great, because if these images wouldn't be there, the wikipedia would miss something ;-) But because I find you always and always again when down- and uploading these pics, I thought it could probably be useful if I tell you this! The most pics, I guess, were uploaded a few months or longer ago, but for all the users in the future which need some of your excellent images in the local Knowledge, I want to please you to upload pictures to the commons in the future! And if you have some time left, or if you work with an already existing image which you published, you probably could transfer one of those from time to time to the commons, or mark images of which you know that they are already transferred. Sorry if I probably made (and make ;-)) a few of mistakes, but I hope you understood it all. I also hope I was polite enough, because it's only a request I wanted to tell you :-) Greetings, 7608:
to be. I notice you didn't even spare the Princeton University article. We simply disagree on whether the split between the Borough/Township is significant enough to merit being noted on every Princeton-related article on Knowledge. In my opinion, I think it should ONLY be mentioned on the "Princeton, NJ" article. Fine. I don't intend to carry this on to the point of exhaustion, because I do have better things to do with my life! But I still do find the nature of your Township/Borough distinction to be rather excessive and gratuitous. As has been implied, people who live here are more likely to identify themselves as "being from Princeton" than "being from Princeton Township" or "being from Princeton Borough", and I find that this cultural trend speaks volumes about Princeton really being one body. Historically too, the difference between the Township and the Borough has been minimal. For now, I'd say it is up to the editing body as a whole whether your changes should stand - your consensus is definitely NOT unanimous. There is support for my point of view on here too. But even though I still very strongly disagree with you, I will preserve my sanity and let time decide which side of this argument "wins." :) --

High serves all of Florida City, and basically everything south of Sw 328 Street, which I'm assuming includes Islamorada (the only Florida Key located in Dade County instead of Monroe, though they might go to the Monroe district... not sure). Southridge serves everything West of 137th Avenue, and north of like Hainiling Mills Drive, (about SW 232nd). Which is all unincorporated with a Miami Address, Goulds/Cutler Ridge, Perreine. Don't know who serves everything north of NW 168th because of the new High school's they've built there... it used to be Braddock, but it could be Ferguson or Varela now. North of Southridge should be Palmetto High... this get commplicated after a while. Anyway, to answer your question, doesn't look like any elementary school in unincoporated areas serve the incorporated parts of Homestead and Florida city since all those unincorporated areas have Miami zip codes. I wouldn't be surprised though if those elementary schools listed served the unincorporated parts though. They should do what Broward County school's does and created .pdf boundary maps. That would make things much easier. --
7255:. You will notice that in the intro of the borough article it says "The Borough of Princeton is a borough and is one of the two municipalities making up Princeton, New Jersey. " The high school is physically located within the Borough, but the money for it is from both the Borough and the Township. Generally, no particular distinction is made between these two municipalities in everyday life, since one encompasses the other, and they're both really "Princeton" historically, "coloquially", and physically. They share other services besides the school as well, including the Library and some other things. For people who live there and people who visit there, there is really no difference between the Borough and the Township (perhaps taxes are slightly different), so I see no reason why the wikipedia article on the high school should make a distinction. The first paragraph says where it's physically located anyway. Also, you gave absolutely no edit summary when you moved the article in the first place. 8354:. Over the past few months a number of users, including myself, have been in conflict with user:Gibnews. We feel he has taken over the page as his pet project and has imposed a NPOV pro-Gibraltarian point of view. I feel his attitude and utter refusal to acheive any form of consensus is contrary to the rules of wikipedia. He accuses everyone of Spanish propaganda even on issues which are not directly related to the Anglo-Spanish dispute over Gibraltar and reverts pretty much everything which is not written by himself. Although I am not Spanish, I sometimes wonder if I may be slightly biased towards the Spanish perspective. I do not however believe that Gibraltar should be Spanish and I try to remain as neutral as possible. I do not have a problem with Gibnew's views. I simply do not approve of his way of discarding other people's sources, opinions etc... You should perhaps consult other users for their opinions such as user:ecemaml and user:asterion. 5596:
modern revisionism regarding romanized writing. To really get into it though, let's step back a second. Shampoo. It's an english word. Shampoo is Chinese. Ranma 1/2 is a Japanese cartoon. So now there is a imaginary conflict between proper writing of a English word in Japanese, or a Chinese word derived from and English word in Japanese. You follow? To be absolutely proper, it's a person's name and should be written as close to possible as original no matter what language you convert or derive it into. Shampoo = Shampu. Turning n to m before the letter p is common use of romainzed Japanese writing, has been for many many years. Do a google search for shanpu. 612 hits, and it says: Did you mean Shampoo? Google that, almost 400k hits. You can't have it both ways, either go for complete proper conversion, or none at all. Also, it would be Xianpu in Chinese, there is no Sh in Chinese. Cheers! - 8 Feb 2006

residential streets and I couldn't find a suitable map that was large enough. Still, if you also want to work on cities in Broward County, their website has several.pdf files which actually show the boundaries themselves. I wish Dade would do something like that. Sorry about not getting on that list you gave me, but I had finals for school, and work, and a lot of other things and haven't been able to do much editing on WP other than minor gnome edits (it's gnome, right?). Once I get school off my back I'll be able to get on with the task, though I know more about Northwest and Central Dade in terms of schools because that's where I lived... my middle school fed into four high schools, and I didn't go to any of them (we moved) so I got to know several boundaries just by common knowledge. Anyway, enough rambling... I want to really overhaul the

Actually, i have no idea what i was thinking there. After just a brief diggin around i see that Shan Pu is the correct Chinese spelling, which would be the closest approximation Chinese could get to Shampoo. (Though Xianpu could theoretically be derived using differnet pinyin system, that's a debate for another board/topic.) There's a link in comment in Shampoo section that goes to good debate on it if you wish to read more though. Apparently many common mispellings of all the Chinese characters resulted from one specific fanfic that was used by many others and got out of hand. Interesting reading really.

are really more of a reification than Princeton is. It's not just a colloquialism, it's how people experience the town, which is more real to many people than the semi-divisions of politics. Yes, Cranbury contributes funds, but I don't believe they take part in the political processes, such as the school board. They are very clearly a school district paying to have their kids go out-of-district for high school, whereas PRS is one district, one governing body (schoolboard). The reality of peoples' experience is that the school is in Princeton, and calling it Princeton Borough (no one actually says Borough of Princeton, btw) is just being Pedantic. I'm sorry if that doesn't fit into your ordering scheme, but that's the problem with attempting to order the universe, frequently things don't just fit nicely.
8043:." - Even so, he still condones the names used. If this was a commonly-used romanization that is not used by any official sources, then this would perfectly fit no. 3. But the fact that, as far as I know, he has to approve of the said naming choices makes it official too. Also no. 1 doesn't say that the person necessairly has to have come up with the name himself. The trade name article on Knowledge talks about the trade name of a business: "A trade name, also known as a trading name or a business name, is the name which a business trades under for commercial purposes, although its registered, legal name, used for contracts and other formal situations, may be another." - The VIZ/ADV romanization in a sense is used that way in the States. 6710:
West of there, it depends on how close they are to Homestead itself, most unincorporated areas near Homestead in the Redlands/Naranja/Princeton/Goulds unincoporated areas are served by South Dade High School and its feeders, though Perreine, Cutler Ridge, and parts of Goulds are served by Miami Southridge and its feeders. I think Goulds might be only for Southridge though, I'm pretty sure that the others are served by South Dade. You could put something like, "South Dade High School also serves unincoporated areas north of Homestead with Homestead zip codes." Let me go onto the Dade Schools site and read the boundary instructions to see where the exact boundaries for the high schools are. --
6846:: municipality pages, school districts and high schools. Given how few school districts existed early on, the DFG categories were added to the municipality pages. When district articles were created, the DFG categories were added to the new articles, but left on the municipal pages in many cases. There's no need to have the category linked twice from the same location. The only time where it's justified is in a municipality that participates in a regional or consolidated district. They also don't belong on articles for high schools. thanks for your input on an issue that no one else in new Jersey seems to understand. Dare I ask why someone hailing from 7045:

I can find out in the next few hours if that sector of Cordova has been annexed yet. and i'll make the neccessary changes. if i miss any, just cover me haha :). 4241:). I don't exactly remember, but I suspect we had articles under both names and I must have picked "Kucchan" based on the text in the article. I'm not a Japanese linguist (don't speak or read Japanese) and am relatively clueless about the different romanization styles, so thanks for picking up on this and moving it to the right place. I've been adding quite a few stubs (perhaps 3-4 dozen by now) for towns and cities created by recent mergers, so it's possible I've made similar mistakes on these article names as well. I've generally used romanizations matching the town or city website name, or have asked at 9059:
their true names and titles while their corny English names are listed once in perenthesis like you have done with the Japanese names on Mantarou's page. Sailor Moon is famously known more over here for their stupid English names, yet if I'm not mistaken, the character's personal pages list them by their true names. And if one of you're concerns is people who don't know the original names trying to link a page to the charcter's page with their corny English name, well there's still Redirecting, isn't there?
8484:, probably some bad markup in the article, but the borders that the template has there, something like that is what I mean, that way it doesn't look so cluttered. Also, even though technically the high schools have Miami in their name (Miami Killian, Miami Sunset, etc.) most people don't call them that. Only Miami Springs and Miami Beach normally keep it because they're named after the cities, while Killian, Sunset, Carol City, Northwestern, etc. are named after their location and to distinguish them. -- 5507:
other alphabets, there are many romanizations, some of them "wrong" ones, often the preferred romanizations of the individuals themselves. Knowledge is a starting point for people finding more information about subjects. All the romanizations I listed are ones for which there are Google hits (websites). Removing them means that those doing research will not have access to those websites unless they're very clever and try many permutations of spelling, which most people will not do.
4245:. If you have the inclination, it might be useful to review the articles about towns/cities created by merger. They should be listed in a "mergers" section in each prefecture article. I've been working my way through the prefectures, updating the list of cities/towns/villages based on merger activity (and making sure they link to the right ja: article, and adding a link to the official website for each town/village). I'm currently up to Ishikawa. In any event, thanks. -- 6047: 8082: 3682: 3380: 5306: 3409: 98:

(If the image were used in an article on the character, that would be a fair use; if you wrote a video game and used the artwork as one of the characters, that would not be a fair use.) Since the image is currently not used in any articles, a fair use claim doesn't really apply. Is there an article you think it should be in? – 705:: "Always fill the summary field is one of Knowledge's guidelines. Even a short summary is better than no summary. Using italics instigates something "official", so that's why I don't want to italicize the translation. Hepburn is an official romanizing system, which is why we italicize it. My only problem with this is that the English (in an English article) is at the end of the line, which seems a bit condemning, but I think it can't be avoided in non-English topics. 5473:

By having the search for 'Tuffles' redirect to 'Tsufurujin' there shouldn't be any trouble in finding the information on the race. With that in mind, I don't see what the problem is. -- Daishokaioshin
7751: 7382:. I think the wording that says something is in Princeton (not Borough or Township) only confuses the fact. I'm a little confused on what to do. Is the method I use above wrong? It kind of sends me the message that all new seiyū stubs I create or edit should have macrons if they keep getting moved (not that I have a problem with consistent appearance). -- 1463:

Also, since most of the titles I'm translating are loose, unofficial translations, I don't think it's right to examplify the English translation as a "title" (thus italicizing it), which is why I petitioned to use the Japanese name first.
