The last lord of the Standish manor was Henry Noailles Widdington Standish, who died in 1920, leaving heirs. He was brought up in France and never lived in the Hall. The estate was broken up and put up for auction in 1921 by its then-owner, James Birkett Almond. However, the hall failed to reach its
