In 1844, the 20th Chief, Archibald James Lamont, married Harriet Campbell of Possil after the death of his first wife. The family, though, remained Lamonts â still subject to the chief of Clan Lamont. The estates are located north of Glasgow, separated from the traditional land in Cowal.
